This consultation seeks feedback on whether all street works permit schemes should comply with amendments to the permit scheme regulations by 1 October 2015.
Those most likely to benefit from responding to this consultation include:
- local councils
- utility companies
- sector representative bodies
as well as bodies representing the full range of road users.
皇冠体育app aim of the Department for Transport鈥檚 proposal is to improve consistency across all local councils鈥� permit schemes in England. Schemes in Wales will still approved by the appropriate national authority.
皇冠体育app Permit Scheme (England) Regulations 2007 have been amended to:
- take account of the plan for permit schemes to be approved by a local authority鈥檚 own order rather than by the Secretary of State for Transport in the future
- update the way that street works permit schemes come into effect
