COM32040 - Background: features of COTAX: Excel button

COTAX provides an [Excel] button on each work list so you can export the work list entries to an Excel spreadsheet to manipulate and analyse the data.

When you use the [Excel] button, a spreadsheet opens, and the work list entries are automatically exported to it.

»Ê¹ÚÌåÓýapp details shown include the company UTR, company name, date of entry and BF date.

COTAX system help (COSH) gives you further guidance on using this facility.

If this does not work there is a OneNote workaround:Ìý

  • you need to set the default printer as OneNote and open OneNote
  • use [Print] on COTAX, then right click in OneNote and Copy text from all pages of the printout
  • open Excel and paste data
  • remove blank rows (OneNote page breaks) each page and heading data from each time you paste the data
  • once you have the required number of cases, split the columns in ‘text to columnsâ€ on the ‘Dataâ€ option of Excel
  • once the workÌýis in Excel remember to delete the OneNote pages as they all save on the side on OneNote

Remember to change printer back to your normal print preference for sending letters/actually print in office.
