Before you start

Read the waste exemptions guidance to check if you need to register an exemption. Check you can comply with exemption conditions.

What you need when you register

To register waste exemptions you need to know:鈥���

• which exemptions you need 鈥� see the list of waste exemptions听

• name, address and contact details of the person or business carrying out the waste activity鈥���

• company registration number and registered address if you鈥檙e a limited company or limited liability partnership

• address and postcode or where the waste activity will take place (this may be different to the business address)听

Waste exemptions last for 3 years. You鈥檒l get an email when it鈥檚 time to renew.

Deregistering or updating

To deregister an exemption or update your contact details you need:听

• your waste exemption (WEX) registration number鈥���

• the email address you used to register the exemption

Linear networks and multiple site registrations听听

Use this registration form instead of the digital service if:

• your waste activity is along a road, canal, track or other type of linear network
• you want to register the same exemption at 30 or more sites (known as multiple site registration)
