InSite Service

InSite is the central database of Government Central Civil Estate buildings and land.

皇冠体育app InSite service replaces the legacy e-PIMS system and has been designed to capture data against the Government Property Data Standard.

It records the precise location of property, along with information such as landlord details, lease data and usage.

Users are able to find properties on a map, amend their own property details, and use the system to search for vacant space.

InSite captures Government Estate data to enable the property function to have a central portfolio view of the estate and:

  • report against the Property Data Mandate
  • meet its commitments under the climate change act to table an annual report on the efficiency and sustainability of the Government Estate
  • dispose of surplus property in accordance with HMT鈥檚 Managing Public Money and Cabinet Office鈥檚 Managing Surplus Government Property guidance
  • meet its transparency commitments to publish property data on data.gov.uk
  • deliver the right to contest policy
  • repurpose/ minimise vacant space

皇冠体育app data captured will also be used as an evidence base to support the strategic asset management of the estate and delivery of the Government Property Strategy.

InSite has been built around the Government Property Data Standard, which was published in February 2023 and is available here: Government Property Data Standard: GovS004-PDS010.

皇冠体育app Data Standard outlines the data fields that need to be reported against so that the Office of Government Property and government departments can provide a portfolio level view of government鈥檚 property assets.

Updating property information aligned to the data standard is mandatory for all central government departments and their arms length bodies including non-ministerial departments, executive agencies, non-departmental public bodies and special health authorities

皇冠体育app system is also used by the devolved governments of Scotland and Wales.

皇冠体育app following bodies are not mandated to update their property information on InSite, but may have to do so in specific circumstances such as to add a surplus property:

  • NHS organisations (except for special health authorities)
  • public corporations
  • privatised railways
  • Crown Estate
  • Defence Estate (subject to some exceptions)
  • Local Authorities

Use of InSite data

OGP releases data from InSite onto data.gov.uk each month to meet the function鈥檚 transparency commitments.

Details of government property and land to rent or buy are made available publicly on Government Property Finder. This website also supports the Right to Contest policy.

What are the enhancements InSite will deliver?

皇冠体育app new service will deliver a number of key benefits:

  • A modern, more accessible user interface that aims to meet the latest accessibility standards
  • Enhanced validation tools and assurance reports to drive data quality
  • Bulk upload functionality and system integration capabilities to reduce the reporting burden
  • Business intelligence dashboards that enable deeper data insights
  • Mapping 鈥 a simpler, more intuitive mapping interface
  • Boundary data visualised on a map against OS background reference data

Users will continue to benefit from key operational features such as:

  • Recording and reporting on vacant space
  • Recording assets for disposal
  • Delivering the property function鈥檚 transparency requirements

What InSite Is Not

InSite technology is not a property management system, and nor does it aim to replace any such systems in use in the public sector. It will initially capture strategic property information aligned to the data standard and will be continuously improved to meet business and user requirements.聽

User Support

InSite has been developed to be as intuitive as possible and require limited external guidance.聽

皇冠体育app InSite service desk is also available to provide support to users. 皇冠体育app service desk is available Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm. Please email any queries to: [email protected]
