Details

In 2014:

  • total sea passenger numbers remained stable at 65.9 million
  • the total number of international sea passengers increased by 3% on the previous year, to 23.2 million
  • passenger numbers on short sea and long sea voyages increased by 4% and 41% respectively while cruise passengers decreased by 6%
  • the total number of passengers on domestic routes decreased by 1% to 42.7 million
  • domestic sea crossing passenger numbers decreased by 2% to 3.6 million, river ferries decreased by 3% to 20.6 million and inter-island remained stable at 18.6 million

Provisional figures for 2015 will be published in February 2016.
