This is the eleventh review of the United Kingdom (UK) import controls of animals and animal products in accordance with section 10A of the Animal Health Act 1981 (as amended by the Animal Health Act 2002).

»Ê¹ÚÌåÓýapp report describes the steps being taken by government and others to prevent the introduction of disease through the importation of animals and animal products. It:

  • provides an overview of the effectiveness of the UK import controls
  • explains how the system of import controls and other safeguard measures work
  • describes the legal basis for the controls and identifies the key agencies across central and local government that are involved in this work
