This rapid systematic review identified and summarised evidence of the effectiveness of active case finding for people infected with tuberculosis (TB) or people with active TB disease in prisons and places of detention, in countries with low or moderate incidence of TB (less than 40 cases per 100,000).
This rapid systematic review searched for research published up to 3 July 2024 and included 6 studies. 皇冠体育app included studies were mostly economic evaluations with limited detail on effectiveness, all conducted in adult prisons. 皇冠体育app findings were not directly comparable between studies, but the evidence offered some insights into the accuracy and cost-effectiveness of active case finding for TB using chest X-rays, tuberculin skin tests, interferon gamma release assays, sputum polymerase chain reaction, or symptom-based case finding.
