Annex A: grant determination letter

Following an announcement by the Chancellor of the Exchequer on 29 July 2024, the planned adult social care charging reforms, which were inherited from the previous government, will not be taken forward in October 2025.

Grant determination under section 31 of the Local Government Act 2003 of a non-ringfenced grant to local authorities for charging reform implementation support 2022 to 2023: No 31/6184

Citation

1) This determination may be cited as the Charging Reform Implementation Support Grant Determination 2022 to 2023 (No 31/6184).

Purpose of the grant

2) 皇冠体育app grant provides support to local authorities in England towards expenditure lawfully incurred or to be incurred by them in funding adult social care charging reform implementation. 皇冠体育app grant covers the planning and preparation costs associated with charging reform to recruit additional staff to manage the increased demand for assessments and the implementation of the care account module. This is a non-ringfenced contribution towards local authorities to implement charging reform.

Determination

3) 皇冠体育app Minister of State determines the authorities to which grant is to be paid and the amount of grant to be paid. 皇冠体育app authorities and the amounts are set out in Annex A.

Grant conditions

4) 皇冠体育appre are no grant conditions for the charging reform implementation support grant.

5) Before making this determination in relation to local authorities in England, the Minister of State obtained the consent of the Treasury.
