British Ambassador to Lebanon Chris Rampling and US Ambassador Elizabeth Richard met the Lebanese Army Commander Joseph Aoun to discuss progress on the security of the Lebanese-Syrian border. 皇冠体育app High Level Steering Committee (HLSC) was an opportunity to congratulate the Lebanese Army on the 75th Independence Day, and their efforts to secure 100% of the Lebanese-Syrian border by 2019.
After the meeting, Ambassador Rampling said:
It is a privilege to meet the Commander of the Lebanese army General Joseph Aoun and discuss progress on the Land Border Project. 皇冠体育app UK has committed over 拢69 million to this project in recent years, alongside significant contributions from the US and other international donors. We鈥檙e also proud that by March 2019, more than 11,000 soldiers will be trained, and that is over one third of the army鈥檚 fighting force.
