Minister for Europe meets Montenegrin Prime Minister

Foreign Office Minister David Lidington will accompany Prime Minister of Montenegro, Igor Luksic, at the 2012 women鈥檚 handball final where Montenegro is guaranteed its first ever Olympic medal.

Speaking before the Montenegro vs Norway final the Foreign Office Minister said:

鈥淚 met Prime Minister Luksic last Saturday when we had a fruitful discussion on Montenegro鈥檚 EU membership bid, which the UK supports. I鈥檓 pleased to see him back so soon in such good circumstances - Montenegro is guaranteed its first Olympic medal and I鈥檓 delighted that this event will happen in London. I look forward to watching this historic match with the Prime Minister, and to continuing our important discussions on Montenegro鈥檚 EU and NATO future.鈥�
