Lord Livingston meets top exporters from the south east region

Winners of the 2014 Queen鈥檚 Award for Enterprise from the south east celebrated their success at a special event in London hosted by Lord Livingston.

UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) recently (7 July 2014) held an event to recognise the winners of the 2014 Queen鈥檚 Award for Enterprise.

15 winners attended the prestigious event at the Farmer鈥檚 Club in London. 皇冠体育appy were welcomed by Lord Livingston, Minister for Trade & Investment and UKTI South East director Lewis Scott.

Lord Livingston, Minister for Trade & Investment, said:

With the largest number of Queen鈥檚 Award winners in the country, the South East certainly has a lot to celebrate. This event provided a fantastic opportunity for me to speak to some of the region鈥檚 best exporters.

皇冠体育app event highlighted the support provided by UK Trade & Investment and UK Export Finance and I would encourage all companies interested in exporting to find out how government can help their business.

皇冠体育app attendees received information on how they can further increase their exports with the help of UKTI鈥檚 services.

Winning companies

Companies from the south east represented at the event included:

  • - increased exports to 45% of their turnover
  • - increased their export sales
  • - 501% growth in overseas earnings over the last 6 years

Lewis Scott, Regional Director of UKTI South East, said:

From a company selling rotary kilns to South America, to a firm supplying edible pulses to Africa, it鈥檚 clear that local companies really are blazing a trail for exporters across the South East.

I believe there are many more businesses in the area that are ready to sell overseas but who just need some help and guidance before taking the plunge, and UKTI are here to help them do just that.

Queen鈥檚 Awards for Enterprise

Winners of the Queen鈥檚 Award receive:

  • a crystal bowl to mark their achievement by a Royal representative
  • a grant of appointment signed by the Queen and Prime Minister
  • an invite to attend a celebratory reception at Buckingham Palace.
  • permission to use the Queen鈥檚 Award emblem in their advertising for 5 years
