Internationally renowned sculptor receives honour
Jeremy Hunt presents Dr Helaine Blumenfeld with honorary OBE.

Dr Blumenfeld - an American citizen, based聽between the UK and Italy聽- has been sculpting in marble and bronze for over 45 years.聽She has been exhibited alongside Henry Moore and Constantin Brancusi, as well as in a wide range of solo and group shows across the world.聽 She has created over 50 large-scale commissions for the public and private sector alike and has exhibited widely聽both in聽Britain and across the globe. In 2007 she became the first ever woman to win the coveted Italian 鈥淧remio Pietrasanta e la Versilia nel Mondo鈥� award.
In 2004 she was elected Vice President of the , an independent artist led organisation that promotes high professional and creative standards among sculptors/artists and is committed to making the full range of contemporary practice accessible to all.聽
Presenting the award on behalf of HM 皇冠体育app Queen, Jeremy Hunt acknowledged Dr Blumenfeld鈥檚 鈥渟ignificant contribution to the arts in the UK,鈥� hailing her as 鈥渙ne of the boldest and most diverse artists working today.鈥澛�
Dr Blumenfeld was presented with the award at the House of Commons, accompanied by her family.
