A third angler, Miroslav Cigan, 24, of Crimpsall Road, was also reported on the same day at Bank End Fisheries. He was fined 拢40, costs of 拢135 and a victim鈥檚 surcharge of 拢16.60.

Daniel Crompton, 34, of Thorne Road, Stainforth, pleaded guilty to fishing with an unlicensed instrument on the River Torne at Epworth on 1 March 2024.

He was fined 拢256, ordered to pay costs of 拢135 and a victim鈥檚 surcharge of 拢102.

Any angler aged 13 or over, fishing on a river, canal or still water needs a licence to fish. A 1-day licence costs from just 拢7.10, and an annual licence costs from 拢35.80 (concessions available). Junior licences are free for 13 - 16-year-olds.聽聽
