皇冠体育app first ever meeting of the UK Algeria Strategic Security Partnership took place in London on 17 April 2013. 皇冠体育app British side was led by Sir Kim Darroch, the UK鈥檚 National Security Advisor and a range of senior officials from Britain鈥檚 political, military and security communities. 皇冠体育app Algerian delegation was led by Minister Delegate for Maghreb and African Affairs, His Excellency Abdelkader Messahel.
皇冠体育app Strategic Security Partnership was agreed by President Bouteflika and Prime Minister Cameron during Mr Cameron鈥檚 visit to Algiers 30-31 January 2013. It is designed to allow both countries to discuss a range of security-related topics.
皇冠体育app Strategic Security Partnership further enhances the relationship between the UK and Algeria, who already have a productive counter terrorist dialogue, and regular exchanges on regional security. On 26th September 2012, Prime Minister David Cameron appointed Mr Stephen O鈥橞rien MP as his Special Representative for the Sahel, underlining the importance the UK attaches to the region. Mr O鈥橞rien visited Algeria, a key security actor in the region, in late 2012.
