Finnish Student Receives 2013 Mansion House Scholarship
Finnish student Jockum Backman is awarded one of five Mansion House Scholarships

Hon Roger Gifford, the former Lord Mayor of the City of London, awarded five Mansion House scholarships to outstanding overseas students, including Jockum Backman from Finland. 皇冠体育app Lord Mayor presented Jockum with a certificate awarding him his scholarship at a ceremony shortly before this year鈥檚 City Banquet at Mansion House on 23rd October. Some 300 VIP guests attended the event held for City鈥檚 financial services sector.

It also provides local services and policing within the Square Mile for residents, workers and visitors, as well are services to London and the UK as a whole. Roger Gifford announced that a Finnish student would receive a Mansion House Scholarship at the Queen鈥檚 Birthday Party of the British Ambassador鈥檚 Residence in Kaivopuisto during an official visit to Finland in May 2013, when he met senior Finnish Ministers and officials, and figures from the business and financial community.
Jockum is a graduate of the Hanken Svenska Handelsh枚gskolan, the Swedish-language School of Economics in Helsinki. Jockum is currently studying Economics at the University of Warwick.
皇冠体育app Lord Mayor of the City of London holds the post for one year. 皇冠体育app new Lord Mayor Alderman Fiona Woolf, who is only the second woman to hold the post, took office on 8 November 2013.
