Farewell event for Venezuelan Chevening scholars

We marked the 30th anniversary of the Chevening Programme and bid farewell to the new Venezuelan Chevening scholars.

With a friendly gathering the Embassy celebrated the 30th anniversary of the Chevening Scholarship Programme, financed by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

皇冠体育app event was attended by UK alumni 鈥� Venezuelans who have studied in the UK, many of them former Chevening scholarship recipients.

During a special act, we bid farewell to this year鈥檚 Cheveners, Ernesto Herrera and Luis Schloeter, who are off to the University College of London. Ambassador Catherine Nettleton sent them off, wishing them the best, and asked alumni to share with the newbies their experiences about living and studying in the UK.

皇冠体育app British Government recently announced that, starting next year, it would triplicate funds for the Chevening Programme, which means a significant and welcome increase in the number of scholarships.

皇冠体育app Chevening Scholarships are offered in more than 150 countries and territories worldwide and are awarded to outstanding individuals with leadership potential to study postgraduate courses at universities in the UK.
