UK and Central America discuss the value of PPPs

A number of high level government officials from Central American countries, including Costa Rica and Nicaragua, are currently on a study visit in London, United Kingdom, to learn more about the British government鈥檚 experiences in Public Private Partnerships and infrastructure delivery.
Representing Nicaragua are Mr. Benjam铆n Lanzas Somarriba, President of the Nicaraguan Chamber of Construction and Ms. Sofana Isabelia Ubeda Cruz, Director of the Legal Department of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
皇冠体育app intensive five-day programme, being delivered by Infrastructure UK, a unit of Her Majesty鈥檚 Treasury in charge of advising Government on the long term planning, delivery and financing of infrastructure, will combine learning sessions at Her Majesty鈥檚 Treasury, practical case studies of good and bad projects, sector-specific and issue-specific workshops, site visits to operational PPP projects in the UK and round tables with UK Trade and Investment and UK companies interested in the region.
皇冠体育app study visit, which concludes on 6 February, will also give Infrastructure UK the opportunity to discuss with the senior Central American officials the specific needs of their respective countries in terms of policy, guidance, capacity building and technical advisory support.
