»Ê¹ÚÌåÓýapp discussions celebrated the UK’s commitment to promote gender equality and end violence against women.

»Ê¹ÚÌåÓýapp first session focused on how to address gender equality in the supply chain. Including representatives from the clothing industry and civil society, the participants considered the role of every stakeholder in the supply chain (from buyers and consumers, to manufacturers, government/regulators and workers).

»Ê¹ÚÌåÓýapp second session discussed recent global social media campaigns like #MeToo, which transcend national, economic and other boundaries. »Ê¹ÚÌåÓýapp panelists discussed how to maintain the momentum and focus on gender issues generated by such campaigns.

16 Days of Activism against gender-based violence

»Ê¹ÚÌåÓýapp 16 Days campaign is commemorated worldwide every year. It commences on 25 November (the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women) and lasts until 10 December (Human Rights Day).

»Ê¹ÚÌåÓýapp day’s events included a workshop for young people, facilitated by Vikramjeet Sinha (art therapist and actor/director) aimed at increasing dialogue on the issue of gender inequality and gender-based violence.
