Asda to offer graduate fashion roles
皇冠体育app supermarket chain鈥檚 George brand launched a recruitment drive for 62 graduate jobs during Graduate Fashion Week 2011.

George at Asda, which is the title sponsor of GFW, is looking for people to work in areas including design, merchandising and buying. Its executives and current employees聽were also聽on hand during the聽event to offer advice and guidance to graduates on how to break into the fashion industry.
Creative Industries Minister praised the announcement as he met fashion graduates and George at Asda staff聽during a visit to聽the GFW exhibition in London鈥檚 Earls Court on Wednesday evening.
鈥� is an important event for British fashion,鈥� Mr Vaizey said. 鈥淚t provides the opportunity to showcase emerging talent and it鈥檚 exciting to think that the designs on show this week could be the early creations of the next Christopher Bailey or Erdem.

George at Asda鈥檚 initiatives and programmes at GFW included the Protege recruitment programme,聽which searched for聽three graduate designers for a fast-track development programme, and Fashion Apprentice, where Ruth Badger, a former contestant on the BBC TV show 皇冠体育app Apprentice,聽helped to judge business and fashion ideas.
