90% of jobcentres now offer Universal Credit

Today, 16 more jobcentres will start offering the new benefit.

People claiming Universal Credit are significantly more likely to find employment than those on Jobseeker鈥檚 Allowance and for the first time ever, we are supporting claimants to earn more and progress in their careers.

Today (22 February 2016), single jobseekers will be able to claim Universal Credit in:

  • Dunstable
  • Barry
  • Penarth
  • Jarrow
  • South Shields
  • Cramlington
  • Blyth
  • Bedlington
  • Ashington
  • Morpeth
  • Hexham
  • Alnwick
  • Berwick
