Determination

After a period of consultation, the Environment Agency has decided to change the to correct known inaccuracies in the Main River map as per the proposal notice, with the exception of a small number of locations where we are maintaining the existing alignment following public objections.

皇冠体育app main river map will be formally changed to reflect the determination on 11 January 2023.

Appeals

Following an appeal submitted to the Secretary of State, the Environment Agency has decided to withdraw the proposed Main River alignment in the vicinity of Old Rectory Green, Aughton, Ormskirk.

皇冠体育app Environment Agency has received several objections to certain locations that were proposed to change. 皇冠体育app Environment Agency has reviewed these objections, and where appropriate is keeping the existing Main River line in certain locations. 皇冠体育app individual or parties that have raised objections have been informed of the decisions made to they objections.

Following the consultation period from the 11 April to the 10 May and determination period from the 6 June to the 18 July an appeal was submitted to the Secretary of State regarding the Main River alignment in the vicinity of Old Rectory Green, Aughton, Ormskirk.

皇冠体育app Environment Agency consults the public about proposals to change whether a river or stream is designated as a main river. 皇冠体育app Environment Agency carries out maintenance, improvement or construction work on main rivers to manage flood risk. Main rivers are usually larger rivers and streams.

Details of proposed change

皇冠体育app Environment Agency proposes to change the existing Statutory Main River map across the Environment Agency鈥檚 West Midlands, and Cumbria and Lancashire areas.

It proposes these changes as a 鈥榙etermination鈥� under section . A determination is a formal decision to change the Main River map.

皇冠体育app proposed changes will correct known inaccuracies from the Main River map, so that the map will show the correct location of the watercourse. 皇冠体育appy do not change who has power to carry out flood risk management work on the watercourse.
