皇冠体育app government published draft guidance for consultation on the operation of Knife Crime Prevention Orders on 15 August 2019. Knife Crime Prevention Orders are provided for by the Offensive Weapons Act 2019.
We received 36 separate responses from a variety of organisations and individuals.

Following detailed consideration of the responses, the government鈥檚 guidance on Knife Crime Prevention Orders is published alongside this consultation response document.
皇冠体育app guidance is primarily intended to be used by the police and Crown Prosecution Service but will also be of interest to the judiciary and groups that represent young people and adults within the criminal justice system.

We would like you to share your thoughts with us on the draft guidance we鈥檝e produced in relation to the operation of, and application for, new Knife Crime Prevention Orders (KCPOs).
皇冠体育app Offensive Weapons Act 2019 introduces Knife Crime Prevention Orders (KCPOs). 皇冠体育appse new preventative civil Orders will be an additional tool that the police will be able to use to work with young people and adults to encourage them to help steer them away from knife crime and serious violence.
KCPOs will help to divert those who may be carrying knives, or who are at greatest risk of being drawn into serious violence, away from being involved in knife crime. 皇冠体育appy will also help to prevent those who have been involved in knife crime from further offending when used following a conviction.
