£20 million funding to regenerate Ashton town centre

Ashton was allocated almost £20 million from the Levelling Up Fund. Plans for the allocation include the restoration of Ashton Town Hall.

Restoring Ashton Town Hall

»Ê¹ÚÌåÓýapp allocation is planned to support repairs to the roof and other restoration works. »Ê¹ÚÌåÓýapp works will help bring Ashton Town Hall back into public use and include the restoration of the art gallery and the Museum of Manchester Regiment.

Creating a new residential and commercial space

Plans to upgrade the former bus interchange site will support the development of:

  • new commercial space
  • residential units
  • retail space

New cycle routes

»Ê¹ÚÌåÓýapp planned introduction of new cycle routes will help prioritise walking and cycling in the town centre. Refurbishment of the market square is also planned.
