Summary:

皇冠体育app aircraft battery had insufficient power to start the engine so the pilot decided to hand swing the propeller. 皇冠体育app engine started on the second swing and, although the throttle had been checked closed, the engine ran up to a high power setting and the aircraft began to move forward. 皇冠体育app pilot was struck by the propeller, causing a broken elbow and deep laceration. 皇冠体育app aircraft crossed a runway unmanned and came to rest in a hedge. 皇冠体育app pilot was away from his home base and had been unable to find chocks for the aircraft. Although he had considered briefing a person to occupy the cockpit during the start, he had not done so. No reason was found for the engine starting at a high power setting.
