Summary:

During the approach to land from a visual circuit the pilot forgot to lower the landing gear and forgot to check for three green 鈥榣anding gear down and locked鈥� lights on final approach. Seconds before touchdown, the airfield radio operator noticed that the aircraft鈥檚 landing gear was retracted and made a 鈥淕o Round鈥� call over the radio. 皇冠体育app pilot believed that the 鈥淕o Round鈥� call from the radio operator did not apply to his aircraft, and because the runway was clear he proceeded with the landing. 皇冠体育app aircraft touched down gently on its belly, slid across the grass surface, and then left the runway to the right before coming to rest. 皇冠体育app pilot and his passenger were able to exit the aircraft normally.
