Summary:

皇冠体育app pilot had expected to land on Runway 02 at Caernarfon Airport, however, on establishing radio contact he was informed that due to an incident, the active runway had changed to 08. This would entail landing with a crosswind of approximately 12 kt and he therefore decided to carry out a flapless landing. 皇冠体育app aircraft was approximately 40 kg below the Maximum Landing Weight. 皇冠体育app pilot had to extend the downwind leg in order to provide sufficient separation with a light aircraft ahead and consequently, the approach over the sea was long and flat. As he reached the coast, the aircraft encountered some sink. Despite the pilot applying power and raising the aircraft鈥檚 nose, the landing gear brushed the top of a shingle bank and the aircraft then struck a barbed wire airport boundary fence. 皇冠体育app aircraft landed on the runway safely, but the damage incurred made it unfit for further flight.
