皇冠体育app aircraft departed Exeter for a land away cross country to Land鈥檚 End (St Just) Airfield. 皇冠体育app weather was good and the transit was uneventful with the weather at St Just; wind calm, visibility in excess of 10 km and cloud FEW at 2,000 ft. 皇冠体育app pilot was cleared for a straight in approach for the left side of Runway 25 but the first approach was abandoned and a go-around executed, positioning the aircraft downwind for Runway 25. Excessive altitude had been gained during the go around and had not been sufficiently reduced when established on the final approach to Runway 25. In an attempt to lose height, power was reduced to idle and full flap lowered. 皇冠体育app aircraft touched down at about the mid point of the 695 metre dry, grass runway and despite maximum braking overran the end of the runway entering a hedge at low speed. 皇冠体育app occupants were uninjured and vacated the aircraft through the normal exit. 皇冠体育app pilot considered that he had landed late and fast in the calm wind conditions with the down slope at the western end of the runway was possibly a contributory factor.
