AAIB investigation to Cessna 310Q, G-BXUY

Loss of control following engine power loss, Hawarden Aerodrome, 15 November 2013.

Summary:

皇冠体育app aircraft was approaching to land at Hawarden Aerodrome at the end of a flight from Lognes-Emerainville Aerodrome near Paris. 皇冠体育app aircraft deviated to the left of the runway on final approach and appeared to witnesses to become unstable before it pitched up and rolled to the left. It struck the ground in a steep nose-down inverted attitude. 皇冠体育app investigation concluded that the left engine lost power at a late stage of the approach due to fuel starvation. 皇冠体育app pilot probably attempted a go-around manoeuvre, but the speed fell below the minimum single engine control speed, causing him to lose control of the aircraft. 皇冠体育app cause of the fuel starvation was attributed to mismanagement of the aircraft鈥檚 fuel system.
